READ THIS STUFF, IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF

Our club has exclusive permission to use our 4x4s and work on our own trails here and part of that is maintenance and conservation and part of it is adding new stuff.  The results of this work will add some real value added trails for club members to use on our trips.

We need 4x4s, winches, people and all the normal stuff.

We will also need gas chainsaws for a couple of fallen hardwood trees blocking trails and generally being disagreeable.

We will also need loppers, shovels, ground rakes, choke chains and rock bars.

As a general rule, we try to be selective and even avoid cutting any trees larger than a coke can to build a trail.  Sometimes it is unavoidable.  We have a skidder track that has 1 to 2" diameter sapplings throughout it.  The plan here is to try to uproot them so we don't leave a trail made of pungy sticks.
(Added benefit of exposing the rock surfaces.)

We are hoping for enough people and chainsaws for three to four teams that want to build awesome new trails.  A blue trail, a black trail and one or two extreme obstacles.

One team will go after the dead fall and removing an uprooted tree.  This will be quick work and removing the uprooted tree will make an awesome rock awesomer. Wicked awesomer, in fact.

The second small crew will be doing a quick repair on a bridge with some already dropped wood on site.

A third and possibly fourth team will be opening the new blue trail (of course, thqt can change) and black trail(s).

Personally, I have worked on a lot of the trails the club uses in several places and this is going to be some AWESOME NEW TERRAIN.  I am super excited about this stuff and I know the 3 dudes that were with me yesterday feel the same.

It's Saturday, March 27 from 10 to 5 (or whatever).

Tools needed are listed above, but send an email with concerns.

 * Chainsaw are dangerous.  Know the safety equipment you'll need.  Our cutting is primarily on the ground level this time. Ask questions if you need to - there's no dumb questions.

The meeting location is sent in a confirmation email when you sign up.
